Shifting boundaries is a wall supported installation that offers a visual interpretation of boundaries in a mobile postmodern world. The work looks at the crisscrossing of security lines that protect personal and collective identity negotiations such as language, speech, and cultural participation.
Using a reduced and simplified metaphorical language, the installation calls to the observation of intuitive mechanisms of accommodation and incorporation adopted by migrant populations as strategies of adaptation from a point of imagination, creativity, and language play.
The installation was part of TRANSCEND, TCP’s 9th Annual Exhibition which showcases the aesthetic exploration of the 2018-20 artists from their residency with The Creatives Project. https://www.thecreativesproject.org/annual-exhibition
